Good Afternoon Long Mill Families, 

We are excited to announce that our Boosterthon Fundraiser has raised $7,756 so far! Please continue to share the Boosterthon information with family and friends. If you haven’t registered your child yet, please visit mybooster.com to sign up today. 

Fun Run Event

Students will participate in the Fun Run on Friday, Sept. 27th during their Specials time. Please remember to have your child wear sneakers, bring a water bottle, and wear their grade level color on this day. The colors for each grade level are listed below: 

EC- Tie Dye

Kindergarten- Yellow

1st Grade- Red

2nd Grade-Orange

3rd Grade- Purple

4th Grade-Blue 

5th Grade- Green 

If you are an approved FCS volunteer, and interested in helping with this event, please use this link to sign up as a Fun Run volunteer. We appreciate your support! 

 

Literacy Night

Our Literacy Night will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 5:00-6:30pm. Families can listen to poems and other literary pieces written by students, play literacy games, and learn more about our reading curriculum. In addition, the PTO will provide pizza and snacks for families. If you are interested in helping the PTO at this event, please use this link to sign up. We look forward to seeing all of our Long Mill families!

 

Attendance 

As a reminder, if your child is sick or absent for any reason, please be sure to email your child’s teacher or send in a note with your child when they return to school. I’ve attached a flyer with more information about our attendance procedures. In addition, you can reach out to our school data manager, Joy Bass (joybass@fcschools.net), or our school social worker, Jessica Pegram (jessicapegram@fcschools.net) with any attendance questions or concerns.

 

Ultimate Book Showdown

Our fourth and fifth-grade students will have an opportunity to participate in the Ultimate Book Showdown, formerly known as Battle of the Books. There will be an Ultimate Book Showdown interest meeting in the Media Center on Tuesday, October 1st at 7:30am. Please encourage your child to participate if they enjoy reading and would like to be a part of the book competition in the Spring!
